When you book a party with Music City Mermaid, we have a passion to make your party as spectacular as we can from our end! When you book any of our mermaids, not only do you get a talented, highly experienced mermaid—those mermaids come with a special gift for the birthday child, goody-bags for the other party guests, games to play during the party, and even a blow-up seashell or pegasus for picture opportunities! We offer so much with each party because we want to ensure a magical experience for each and every guest involved!
Despite all this, I was thinking to myself, How else can I make someone’s mermaid party even better? I’ve always been so enamored with the fun decorations that parents come up with for the parties I’ve been a part of. So, I dedicate this blog post to 5 creative ways that anyone can decorate for their mermaid event! Grab your fishing nets, dinglehoppers, and seashells—and let’s go!

1. Golden Doubloons
Mermaids are often finding buried pirate treasure at the bottom of the ocean, so why not a little golden treasure to your party tables? The inspiration for this one came from one of my clients. You'll need a pack of Oreos and a can of edible gold color spray! You can buy Gold Wilton Color Mist Spray at Hobby Lobby for $4.49. Scatter a few colored cookies over your table top, and add some assorted shells and decorative fish net. You'll have a mer-mazing table top in no time! (and it will taste delicious, too!)

2. Goldfish Bags
My inspiration for this next idea came from the blog Young House Love in a post by Sherry Petersik. This is another fun, easy-to-do decoration that you can use as either take-home goodies, table decorations, or even for your snack table! You can use plastic favor bags or a small fish bowl for the container. Grab some regular goldfish (or rainbow goldfish for some extra colors!) and mix a few in with some blue jelly beans or blue M&M's.

3. Jellyfish Lanterns
The inspiration for this decoration came from the blog, U Me and the Kids. You'll need a paper lantern which you can hang from the ceiling using fishing line. You can attach crepe streamers, ribbons, or other pieces of fabric, string, or paper to the bottom. Feel free to mix up the colors and textures for more varied and mystical effects!
There are so many fun ways to make a magical mermaid party look absolutely stunning! Feel free to add any other mermaid decoration suggestions in the comments! I'd love to hear your ideas! Feel free to follow my blog for more mermaid ideas and adventures!
Best Wishes and Swimmy Fishes,
Mermaid Kira
